Susan Clement-Beveridge is an aspiring Canadian artist-illustrator-author, an Ottawa native, part New Zealander with a side of Scottish decent, who has spent a good portion of her life pursuing the arts.
She studied art through her school years and later went on to take some courses through the Ottawa School of Art as well as completing a 2 year Graphic Arts Technical Program at Algonquin College.
She has worked as backstage crew on productions with Centrepointe Theatre, mostly with sound and lighting. Despite her ongoing artistic endeavors with various types of mediums, she continues to work with acrylic on canvas. Her acrylic painting is creatively displayed through landscapes, portraits, local musicians, still-life and abstract subjects.
She has always loved children's books and grew up with many and had so much joy reading them to her son when he was young. One of her favourites has to be Hairy MacClary from Donaldson's Dairy by New Zealand author Lynley Dodd , such a fun & delightful book! So she decided a few years ago to explore the wonderful world of illustrating children's books. Since then a good portion of her time this past year has been spent taking Will Terry's Digital Painting course & Mark Mitchell's "Make Your Marks - Make Your Splashes" children's illustration drawing & watercolor course while working on illustrations for several new children’s books.
